Clubs offered at AIES will vary per session and year.
Spring Clubs, 2023-25
Battle of the Books – Mrs. Troisfontaines
Battle of the Books is a reading competition open for fifth grade students. It is a competition against other fifth grade students from over 90 schools in the Rocky Mountain Region; from Monument to Widefield and Falcon to Woodland Park.
Grade 5
Fee: $20
Building Dreams Brick by Brick – Mme Boylston
Students will be creatively building and exploring with Lego Bricks. Themes will be generated by the students’ self-interest each week.
Grades K-2
Choir – Mrs. Cole
Students learn various singing skills and songs, including the school song, which they perform at the Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and other school assemblies throughout the year.

Handbells – Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Van Wie
Students are taught melodies using handbells. They learn posture, rhythm and collaborative teamwork which is then displayed at a Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and other school assemblies throughout the school year.

Learn Chess – Mme Speer and Mrs. Van Wie
Chess is a fun game that incorporates traits of the IB Learner Profile of learners who are: knowledgeable, inquirers, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. The Chess Club is meant to foster a student’s intellectual growth while having fun. This club will focus on building skills and preparing students for competitive play.
Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5
Story Makers – Mrs. King
Students will develop into young authors through play, art and writing. Students will establish relationships between play, art and writing to be able to create stories. Students will also be building connections with each other as they work through the writing process.
