Learning Extended

Homework is a natural extension of what children learn during the school day. It is intended to give children practice with newly learned skills or concepts, preparation for upcoming classroom events and discussions, application of previously learned skills and concepts, or creative opportunities to integrate skills and concepts.

Homework policy and procedures will be shared with parents and students by the teachers at the beginning of school. Generally, you can expect to have homework on a regular basis, starting with 10 minutes in kindergarten and increasing by 10 minutes per grade level. Teachers may also assign a certain amount of required reading and/or math fact practice.
